Does Warp Require Origin?

So it just released and it doesn't say it needs any DRM or Origin to the right but below it says this:

Oh EA, Offer all your games on Steam not just the crumbs. origin is crap.

Edit: Why did this get moved to the OT section? It's relevant to the Steam platform and/or the WARP forums rather then here. Geez mods.

Um... it's on steam, so I'm pretty sure it doesn't. How would it even make sense?
But why does it say so? Hmm... strange.

If you've bough it on Steam, it is subject to the Terms and Conditions of Steam ALONE. EA are dreadfully amateur with their legal conditions at the best of times, so it doesn't surprise me that they've left in contradictory things like this.

They're an utter disgrace. I've said it before and I'll say it again, whoever their legal representation (or in-house team) is, they deserve to be sacked. I'm a lowly legal advisor, and even I wouldn't dream of being this shoddy.

But I can't imagine how it should work?
I mean, it's on steam. Kingdoms of Amalur for example is also published by EA, but does NOT require origin and is on steam. Why should Warp do?

Well what ever the case I bought it and will tell you guys in about 10 minutes.

I honestly have been looking forward to this.

The Steam version of KOA was self-published by 38 Studios. EA published all other versions.

Please let us know. It looks interesting, but not interesting enough if it requires Origin.

That argument would have a logical backing if Valve didn't lock their own games to steam. Why is it so wrong for EA to do it?

Well that's why you see no disclaimer of it requiring EA/ORIGIn account in the store page of Shank 2 (http://store.steampowered.com/app/102840).
But in the store page of Warp it's there!

Running first time set up, might take a bit. There's 4 steps.

EDIT: It's asking me to sign in to an Origin account. I do have one but forgot the password, I'm trying to reset it but it is taking a while to send the email.
