So my Killing Floor game crashes as soon as I start it.
I press "play" on steam and, some times instantly, the message "Killingfloor.exe has stopped working" pops up. And I've tried everything I can think of, verifying game cache, defragmenting cache, updating drivers etc. Even deleted local game content and re-downloaded it, still crashing when I start it. And it's only like 2 weeks since I last launched it successfully. No windows updates, steam updates or Killing Floor updates since then, so nothing really should make the game crash. I haven't downloaded anything since either. Would be very nice if anyone had any ideas too why this keeps happening. -therandombear |

It would be helpful if you post your system specs, so we can eliminate some possibilities.

How did you delete the game content? I think the .ini files and some other files remain in the system folder if you just delete it via right click in the game library.
If you deleted it this way, try this: - delete the system folder in x:\x\Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor - change download location in steam settings (steam -> settings -> downloads) - restart steam - verify game files |

Tbh, I have no idea where I find the specs. Not very knowledgeable when it comes to computer technology. |

Sounds like you may have changed the graphics driver to Software, if this happens again you need to only delete the KillingFloor.ini file, verify cache and it'll download a default one again and it will work.

You'll be surprised as to how many times it does have to do with system specs and it's actually the reason. I've seen plenty of posts (Not just here on steam forums) where people are trying to run games on a cheap laptop from like 2000. Not saying that it was the case this time but it's not really hard to post basic system info that even children can find out now.
