trying to launch the game causes a blue screen

so, whenever I try to play the game, the launcher will usually start, then I try to play the game and if my computer doesn't blue screen at this point, I get to the point where the doctor is talking to your face and the game will freeze

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, verifying (which will freeze and cause a blue screen at around 20%) and deleting the ClientRegistry.blob

so at this point, it seems like wasted money

funnily enough, when I played a non-steam version, the game ran perfectly, I had a solid 10 hours in the game without so much as a freeze

using W7Ultimate if it matters

By any chance is your game installed in the Programs directory on your C:drive? Also, do you have the Win7 security program (I forget what it's called) active? Those are both known to prevent Fallout from working on Win7.

What error code does the blue screen give you? Also, does it mention anything like a system file (DLL, SYS, etc) or something else in all-caps?

having that info might help us help you

well I didn't wait around for a blue screen, I did a hard restart after the game had caused every program to freeze

I don't know if there's something wrong with my copy of the download, but man

Look up the BSOD info & go from there.
It might be as simple as running chkdsk /f in safe mode.
