To connect Social Club and Steam - need help
Hello,
I hope someone can help me. I got "MP3" on Steam and installed it, I also created an "social club" account. Then I was asked to connect my "Social Club" account with "Steam" to FINALLY be able to play the game. It said (in German): "To share information about ownership of content belonging to Max Payne 3 between the Rockstar Social Club and Steam, the Steam account has to be linked to your Social Club account. Now combine these accounts?" So I pressed "yes" to the link. But nothing happened for hours. It just tries and tries to connect. Can someone help me (in detail)? Thank you. |

Start the game with
-safemode then exit and start without (just remove the -) but i warn you, if you want play multiplayer it's very bad and stupid because of much cheaters and lags. I also had problems starting the game, social club is also very bad. Im pc gamer since 90's and i don't remember having a good pc and can't play a game after i installed it, except gta iv, l.a. noire and max payne 3. Rockstar games sucks for the pc market. NO WONDER they NEVER released Red Dead Redemption. p.s. maybe create a screenshot to show us better (take care of personal data such as email, cdkey and on!) press F12 or print key and open any image editing programm + paste |

Hello StreetGamer,
thank you for your message. I am not a big gamer and I not want to play the game in multiplayer - just for me. So what do you mean with "safemode" and "remove the -" Where can I make that settings change? I understand what you mean about Rockstar Games- The Games are brilliant but the surrounding... It would be very nice to get more help from you - maybe a screenshot. Thank you. |

Maybe the game is having trouble connecting to the activation servers. Check your windows firewall and make sure Max Payne 3 is enabled for Private connection use.
Also, take a look at your social club account and see if the game is already there. |

fix that worked for me
I had the same issue...tried all kinds of stuff suggested by other users...finally rockstar support had me do this, which worked:
"I can understand your frustrations with the whole process. I don't think replacing the digital version with a physical copy would help resolved this. Most cases I've run into with this problem are caused by outside sources from the game. I showed your account as being unverified. I did a manual verification for us. Please try again. Make sure the game and steam are still set to run as administrators. If your still having a issue. Lets disable all non-essential software on your computer and seeing if the issue continues. Step 1: Start the System Configuration Utility Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation. Step 2: Configure Selective Startup options -In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click Selective Startup on the General tab. -Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box. -Note The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable. -Click the Services tab. -Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box. -Click Disable All, and then click OK. -When you are prompted, click Restart." Did the trick for me. Good luck. If it doesn't, submit a ticket to rockstar...they were slow but got it fixed in the end. |
