Editting/Modding Majesty 1
Who thinks that It'd be nice if Paradox/Former Cyberlore released tools to access those .cam files so that we could mod the game.... hell, I'd be willing to pay $30 (ie downloadable dlc tools) just to be able to have the program to access those .cam files. I think it is such a great game and modding would help to prevent it from getting lost and forgotten.
Who is with me on this? |

I would sure be, yeah
Lack of mods is one of the reasons it didn't last very long. Other games that supported mods are still played to this day

Found a file that will open the .cam files, but don't know how to edit the files now or to recompile them.
If you are interested in taking a look: download FxRipper |

I'd be, but not enough to try.
If it can open the .cam, why can't it save it as .cam? I can't imagine it being very difirent from a zip or rar archive.. |

Well from my talks from some of the original staff its somewhat built like Blizzard's .MPQ files, which are nonstandard archives. They require specific software to encrypt and decrypt the files. I dunno how the guy figured out how to extract .cam files with FxRipper but it does work. Problem is, the files are in wierd formats like .dun .tl , etc...

Smart programmers are smart. I would pay ~3$ for such dlc. But it would increase player base hence buyers of game.
